Stewart Simpson- my Grandy! All of the work that I do in the ALS Community is for him. This race is in memory of my Grandy because of his love of cars and racing.
The Hoover Police Department even came to support Stewart's Race! Assistant Chief Fountain brought the department's Porsche to Barber Motorsports Park to participate in Stewart's Race!
Over 100 drivers participated in Stewart's Race 2! People from all over the country supported this cause.
Thank you to every single driver, sponsor, and staff member from Racing For ALS and Just Track It for making this event possible. So grateful to be able to honor my grandfather's memory through this event.
We do not exactly know why. However, we know that there is a higher prevalence of ALS among veterans.
You never know the difference a card and a smile can make. A hospital stay can be difficult. I definitely understand that from the many times my grandfather has stayed at the VA.
Remember that the smallest steps make the biggest differences. A card may seem small, but the love and joy it carries is monumental!
I spent the day with the Goode Foundation by speaking and working at Kerry Goode's Golf Tournament.
It was lovely to spend time with him, his family, and some former college and NFL football players.
Mr. Kerry is another person who has ALS. However, he does not allow his diagnosis to define him. I am thankful to Mr. Kerry and his wife, Mrs. Tanja, for inviting me and allowing me to be part of this event!
NEALS stands for North Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Consortium. The ALS Clinical Research Learning Institute is a two-day program that educates attendees on the clinical research and therapy development process. It was such an honor to be in a room with ALS Warriors and other leaders in the field.
Dr. Bedlack is known for much more than his style in the ALS Community. He has been an advocate, a friend to the ALS community, and trailblazer in the world of ALS care. He established NEALS alongside Merit Cudkowicz in 2011 to create more of a bridge between researchers and people living with ALS and their caregivers.
It was such a great moment to meet the kind and welcoming individuals I had been emailing for several weeks leading up to the conference. Everyone was excited to learn, and I was no exception!
This is Mr. Joe Redmond! He is an ALS Warrior who never stops smiling! It was such a pleasure to meet him and find ways to stay connected after the training.
This was a sweet moment between two new friends. This is Ms. Amy! She offered me some words of wisdom at the conclusion of the training. I am so thankful to have met such wonderful, inspiring people.
To make it all official, we took a group pic!
So thankful for UAB Athletics for allowing me to share my community service initiative at the UAB vs. Notre Dame game!
Met a sweet friend too!
The weather was perfect, and I even got to throw out the first pitch!
I partnered with the Birmingham Squadron to host a fundraiser and awareness night! So thankful for the opportunity to increase awareness of ALS in my community!
The Outlet Shops of Grand River has been wonderful to work with. I am very grateful for their support. This would not be possible without them.
We definitely had some gorgeous cars at the Cruise In
I will always be amazed by the support for the ALS Community that Drive Out ALS participants show!
Thankful for the Dixie Vintage Automobile Club for their support!
A sweet friend receiving a Stewart's Choice Award!
The ALS Association came out to support the Cruise In! Love them and all the
work they do.
The Drive Out ALS Cruise-In was the best day. Thank you to everyone who supported the event.
I want to say thank you to The Outlet Shops of Grand River for allowing me to host this event and being so wonderful to work with.
We raised $2,770 for the Alabama ALS Association. I am incredibly thankful for everyone who participated and made this event possible, Another thank you goes to Jehjeh Pruitt and WBRC Fox 6 News for helping promote this event!
This McLaren was one of my favorites!
So many Jeeps! Thanks to Steel City Jeeps for coming!
It was a real treat having Miss Alabama's Outstanding Teen, Marcelle LeBlanc, at the cruise in. I was so thankful for our volunteers, DeAndre and Joseph, for helping!
Ice Bucket Challenge with Auburn Football Player, Clarke Smith:
The Ice Bucket Challenge increases awareness of ALS and raises funding for a cure. Clarke Smith and I did the Ice Bucket Challenge right in front of the Charles Barkley statue at Leeds High School. Great idea Clarke!
A big thank you to Auburn Football player, Clarke Smith for making a special trip to Leeds to join me for the Ice Bucket Challenge!
